Growing up just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, Coach Megan called Missouri home for much of her life. After attending medical school in Norfolk, Virginia, Megan moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in March of 2020 where she now calls home.

Coach Megan began running in 4th grade when her PE teachers informed her she would be able to skip a day of school if she made the track team. While skipping school may have been her only motivation at that age, Megan has learned to truly love the sport and the running community.

While competing for the University of Missouri, Megan and her family were involved in a traumatic car accident which left her unsure if she’d ever be able to walk, much less run, again. Through patience, perseverance, and a bit of stubbornness, Megan returned to the track after nine months off of any running. Megan was able to overcome her injuries and walked away from her collegiate career a two time SEC Conference Champion (5k and 10k) and a two time NCAA Academic All-American. Post-collegiality, Megan has shifted her focus towards racing on the roads winning the Virginia Beach Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon and competing in the 2020 USA Olympic Marathon Trials.

Coach Megan’s journey back to running after her injuries provides her a unique opportunity to relate to runners of all ability levels: from taking their first steps to qualifying for the Olympic Trials. Coach Megan knows what it takes both getting started and progressing through consistent training. As a coach, Megan hopes to  share her love of running to help her athletes achieve their personal goals while supporting them throughout the training process.
